Transfer Outlook 2007 to 2013

Can't Figure Out How to Upgrade Outlook?

This quick tutorial will walk you through a quick and easy way to transfer your current Outlook 2007 to Outlook 2013.

How to Transfer Outlook 2007 to 2013

This brief article will tell you how to transfer the auto complete from outlook 2007 into outlook 2013. To do this you must copy the .dat file and the nickname file from the old machine. This file will be located here: C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\RoamCache. Or run %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Outlook from the run window.

Then move to this location on the "2013" outlook. There will be a .dat file already there. Copy the "2013" .dat file to the desktop and change the name just to be safe. Copy the old "2007" .dat and nickname files into the new outlook and change the names of those to the names of the "2013" files that were previously there. Basically replacing them with the 2007 files. Once the entire file name is copied, delete the “2013” .DAT file, or just MOVE it to a different location. Now that the files are switched run outlook /importnk2.

This imports the auto completion into outlook and completes the setup.
